Last Saturday was a red-letter day for the Stanthorpe Golf Club. Not one trophy was on offer but two. Mark McCosker sponsored the Nufield Cup. At the presentation Mark shared the story of his grandfather who owned McCosker Motors and sold Nufield tractors. Mark’s grandfather started the Nufield Cup annual competition and Mark is carrying on this proud family tradition. Well done Mark. The other trophy on offer was the Pike Trophy. The Pike name and Trophy goes back for generations in this district and makes this trophy a desirable win, and Winner takes all. Congratulations to Chook Hendry.

Speaking of Leading Ladies and Support Actors, the Club unfortunately has in its membership One who is to golf what Russell Coight is to ‘Great Aussie Adventures’. Through a series of unfortunate events, see photograph, managed to come in 37th out of a field of 42. He, being the same as this Writer, could only console himself with, ‘I’ve got nobody to blame but me.’
