The beloved Captain of the Club, Brad Silver, and his more beloved wife,
Filomena, were the sponsors for the day’s play. The game was a Two Ball
Ambrose, where teams of two play their best hit ball to arrive at a
single score. This form of the game results in very low scoring and its
great fun to play as a team rather than an individual game. So, thank
you Brad and Filomena, you provided us with a lovely day of very
enjoyable golf. The ‘fun factor’ was at the top of the scale. In fact
the megaphone laughter of Ivan Juriss could be heard right across the 18
holes. And little wonder for Ivan and his trusty practice partner Wesley
Smith won the day with a terrific nett of 63 ¾. One stroke back were
the runners up Ron Batterham and Scott Constable. The Pin Shots
(nearest the pin) were AJ Grasso, Michael Thompson and Ivan Juriss. The
ladies Pin Shots went to Nikki Waterworth and Lisa Stuart (x2). The Pro
Pins (second shot to the pins) went to Jarred Irwin, Michael Thompson
and Lochie Hendry with Mei Bell and Lynette Ludlow taking it out for the
women.
Of particular note is the success during the week of one of our regular
golfers. Congratulations to Matt McArthur who won his grade and the
overall winner for the Australasian Police and Emergency Services
Championship held in Hobart. Matt, you have done us all proud in being
such a keen competitor. Next week’s competition will be sponsored by
that beloved and rustic duo, Johnie ‘be good’ Green and Brendan
McAirswing (sorry … McMillan). The game will be a 4BBB with a shot gun
start at noon. The Club welcomes new golfers. Dear Readers, even if
you have never played before but would like to join this booming sport,
the club members will go out of their way to welcome you and ease you
into the sport. Simply contact the club house and one of the friendly
staff will help you make that first step.

Winners Ivan Juriss & Wes Smith.
The Members Draw also jackpotted to $90.00.
