Wild, Wet and Windy was Saturday’s golf sponsored by Cyclone Alfie and co sponsored by Steve and Sandy Kay. Thanks to Steve and Sandy who have been great supporters of the club over many years and to Steve in particular who has done so much to ensure the financial welfare of the Club but no thanks to Alfie! There is one thing about Alfie, he sorted out the women from the girls and the men from the boys. Only the die hards turned up! Some even thought that the wind and the rain provided the prefect day for golf … in Scotland … and Stanthorpe. Saturday was also the second round of the Pike Trophy. The Pike Trophy is played over three Saturdays, the best two scores added together to find the winner. Consistency is everything!
Before celebrating the ‘score card’, the Club had a ‘sore card’ to play the night before. We gathered in numbers to farewell two of the clubs cherished members, Steve and Mei Bell. Steve and Mei have been great supporters of the Club over their five years in Stanthorpe and Mei in particular has taken on a number of extra responsibilities for the Club which are often not seen by others but are very necessary and greatly appreciated by all. We wish Steve and Mei all the best as they move to the koala’s armpit of Landsbrough.

Saturday 15th of March is the final round of the Pike Trophy and the Finch Cup sponsored by Mark McCosker.
